24 Hour Autism Hotline

If you require support, advice or just someone to talk to, the Autism 24 hour hotline will ensure there will be someone there to listen. Calls are answered by people who have children with Autism themselves so you know they will understand.

About the Autism Advisory and Support Service

Austism Advisory and Support Service (AASS) was established in 2007 by Grace Fava and a group of local parents to empower children with Autism and their families through knowledge and support. And to positively impact and influence their children's social and emotional development. They set out to form a service for families of children with Autism, run by parents of children with Autism.

Today AASS is stil run by parents, predominently mother's of children with Autism, with a wide range of backgrounds in education, nursing and business. The service began with supporting families in South West Sydney and now regularly supports families in Western Sydney but has also helped families in every state of Australia.

In 2009 the AASS Community House was opened in Liverpool, it serves as the head office for AASS, a place for families to come when they need unbiased information and support. The house is used for support and social groups and soon will have a purpose built sensory garden and play area for the children. Two of the rooms at the house are also used by a range of therapists so that they can provide extra access to therapy in the Liverpool area.

The dream is for 2 acres of land that would hold our office, support group meeting rooms, workshop rooms, crèche facilities, a sensory room, and therapy rooms. The outside will have a barbeque area for families to have a picnic in secure surroundings, playground equipment, a sensory garden and parking facilities. This will all be surrounded by secure fencing.

The AASS committee are volunteers, they are not currently paid for the work that they do. AASS does not currently received any regular government funding, instead relying on donations, fundraising and grants to operate their service and the 24 hour hotline as a free service for families with children with Autism
